Registration for spring session is open! Spring session will begin January 28-June 17. If you are interested in registering for a new class or wanting to switch classes, now is the perfect time! Holiday Break- No Dance

There will be no dance held December 20-January 6th. Regular classes will resume after the holidays. Have a very safe and happy holiday season!

Can you believe it is almost December! This time of year is so crazy, so I thought I would put a reminder out. For those who are on the recurring payment plan, statements will be emailed out tomorrow and payment will come out next week. For those of you who are not on the recurring payment plan, tuition and also performance fees are due next week.

Tuesday, November 27, there won't be Tuesday classes held. Monday classes will be held on that day. In Studio A: Ballet 1 will go from 3-4, Jazz 1 from 4-5, Jazz 2/3 from 5-6, Ballet 2/3 from 6-7. In Studio B: Sr Co Jazz from 4-6 with run-through of Sr Co Ballet. In Studio C: Jr Co Jazz from 4-5, Jr Co Ballet from 5-6, Beginning Pointe from 6-7.

New Payment System

Hello everyone! We are finally online with our Recurring Credit Card Payment System! As of November 1st, we will be setting everyone up on an automatic withdrawal on a debit or credit card instead of checks and cash. It is a very secure system and it will make things much simpler. For your November payment, I will need you to do one of three things...

1. Fill out the attached authorization form and bring it in to Stone Gate to me.
2. Call me with you card information and I will put it on file.
3. Sign into your account online and input your card information.

I am excited to switch to this payment method and hope you will all be patient while we get things set up this first month. After that, all payments will come out automatically on the 5th of the month. Please check your account balance online before then to make sure all charges are correct. Thank you! If you have any questions, please let me know.

NO DANCE October 15th

Due to Fall Break, there will not be Classes held on Monday, October 15th. There will be a make-up day in November. Watch for more information. Have a wonderful Fall Break!

Costume Fees Due with October Payment

Can you believe it's almost October?!? I just wanted to remind you that Costume Fees are due with October's payment. I know it seems early, but it takes a long time to get the costumes here and organized and out to the girls. Combo classes are $50, Ballet classes are $50, Jazz classes are $40, Jr/JS Turns and Lyrical is $50, Sr Turns is $40, Sr Lyrical is $40, Pointe is a rental fee of $20, Hip Hop classes are $20, and Tumbling classes are $20. Beginning Pointe and Ballroom won't be performing. Please remember, I will reuse costumes if possible, but because the Spring show is Wizard of Oz, it may not be possible this year. I will let you know if you need to save the costume after the performance. If your costume fee is more than $125, you can split it into two payments and pay half with October's payment and half with November's payment. However, you need to make sure you make arrangements with Heidi for this. She needs to input that into the computer so it doesn't charge you a late fee on your account. Last Day to Register for Fall Session

Just a note... the last day to register for Fall Session is Friday, September 28th. After that, we will start getting costumes ordered and working on choreography. So, if you or someone you know is wanting to get registered, please do so before that date. Thanks!

Payment Reminder

Just a reminder that if payment is not received by the 15th of the month, a late fee automatically is added to your account. That is coming up quick this month, so I just wanted to remind you. Also, I have had a lot of parents ask about the short month this month... I have taken the Session, which runs from September to January, and divided tuition by the total number of weeks and made that the monthly tuition. That way, whether the month has extra weeks or is short a week, the monthly tuition is the same. Please look at the calendar that came home with your daughter to see any make up days for classes. There are some scheduled. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks!

First week at Stone Gate

Whew! Our first week at Stone Gate has been a success! Thank you for your patience in the class switches and room shifts. We will get this all figured out! As you have seen, the facility is amazing and gives the children so much great dancing space! This is going to be great!

Just a few reminders...

-Check the map and make sure your children are coming in the back doors to go to their classes.

-There are now Cubbies to put belongings in the East hall by the Dance Studio. There is also a Payment Drop Box right by the Dance Studio door. You can also find Calendars, Newsletters, and maps there as well.

-We are aware that a lot of children are coming to classes right from school, so we are going to provide a small area in the East hall for them to purchase snacks. This will be starting in the next couple of weeks.

-Remember to check with your child and make sure they feel comfortable in the level of class they are in. Please feel free to contact Heidi at any time with any questions or concerns.

New Hip Hop Teacher

Hey, everyone! I am so excited about our new Advanced Hip Hop teacher, I just have to tell everyone!!!  His name is Brandon Armstrong and he is fantastic! He has trained in many styles of dance, but he specializes in Ball Room. He was on Dancing with the Stars as a JR. Champion and has taken many awards. Do you all know Lindsey from this season's So You Think You Can Dance? He is her ballroom partner. He is a super talented up and rising star who is going to be teaching our Advanced Hip Hop class! If you or your child is between the ages of 11-18, boy or girl, and you want to take a great hip-hop class, register for Hip-Hop 3 today! It's Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00. Stone Gate Open House

Hi, all! Stone Gate is having an Open House to celebrate their anniversary on September 7th from 6:00-9:00pm. I will be there in one of our new dance rooms, so if you or your child are interested in coming and seeing the facility before dance starts, please join us that night! I will also have the pictures and DVD's of the Beatle's Mania performance with me and one will be playing for people to watch. There is going to be a lot of other fun things going on as well. Come and join us! Hope to see you all there!

Beginning Pointe Class

If you have been invited to join the Beginning Pointe class, please don't worry about getting your Pointe shoes for the first week of class. We will have some brochures for you there explaining what to look forward to and how to "fit" your Pointe shoes. Just come that first week with your regular ballet shoes and you will get more information there. Make sure moms come if they have any questions. Congratulations on this big and exciting step! Hi, all! Hope your summer is going well and I hope you are all having a lot of fun!!!  We are gearing up to start dance in September. It will be here before we know it!!!  I am so excited to be in the new facility at Stone Gate Center for the Arts! Exciting News!!!

To my Dance Studio:

With much love and gratefulness I am saying goodbye to the dancers that I love.

Heidi Panter is the proud new owner of Timpanogos School of Dance and I am so happy. I have called her  "my Heidi" since she came on board to help me with all that is required in running our dance studio and she has been more then fabulous! She has the same goals for this studio and your daughters as I have had and I know without a doubt that she will take great care of all of them the same way I would have.

Many of you know that my husband and I started a CrossFit Gym last summer and it is the "new" love of our lives. We are opening location #2 in Provo in the fall and I knew I could not do what I need to do with our gyms and still have control over the studio.

It has been a long prayerful decision, not one I made quickly. But since the decision was made both Heidi and I knew it was the right and perfect thing for me, Heidi and your children.

I will still be around because I have a 13 yr old that loves Timpanogos School of Dance as much as me! So this is not goodbye. I can not wait to see your daughters progress and become beautiful dancers! They make me feel proud!

Thank you all dearly for the support you have shown me and my family through the last 11 years! I am so grateful!

To my Dance Studio: :)

I am so excited to be the proud new owner of Timpanogos School of Dance!  This is an amazing studio that has always had a focus on technique and produced great dancers, and I know it is going to stay that way. I am excited for the opportunities that are in store for Tami and wish her the best, and I am humbled by her belief in my abilities.

I am grateful to have this opportunity to continue to work with you and your children to accomplish their dancing goals. I know that as we work together, your children will learn proper technique and a love of dance. There won't be any major changes in how the studio is running or in the teaching staff. I have the same goals and expectations as before.

I, too, prayerfully considered this before going forward with it, and I do know that it is what is right for myself , Tami and the students here at Timpanogos School of Dance. I am excited for what the future of the studio holds!

I love the girls at the studio and I hope to see them and you all in the Fall at Stone Gate!

Thank you!

I just wanted to take a minute and truly thank all of the parents from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity of having your child or children at Timpanogos School of Dance. They all did so well last night, and as I watch them as they are backstage and as they perform, my heart just has so much love for each and every one of them. It is such a privilege to work with such beautiful girls with so much talent and potential. It is wonderful to see the confidence that dancing gives to these girls. And there is nothing better than seeing a little girl come off the stage smiling and hear her little voice say, "Miss Heidi, I did it!" So, again, thank you so much for choosing Timpanogos School of Dance.

There were a few items left at the recital last night, so if you are missing anything, please contact me and I will see if I have it.

Big Think Marketing is fantastic about getting our DVDs out to us. I know she is working hard to get them done for us. I will let you know via email when they are done and where you can pick them up. I have had a few people that didn't realize that everyone gets a copy of the DVD, so if you aren't aware of that, your performance fee does include a copy of the DVD. I can't wait to see it!

Fall registration is still open and there are some spaces available in most of the classes, so if you haven't registered for fall, do so soon! Also, we want to reuse any of the beautiful costumes that we can for next year, so please hang on to them and keep them in good shape. I will let you know as soon as I can which ones we will reuse. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you and your children in the fall! Classes start the week of September 4th.

            Can you believe it is almost time for our Beatles Mania performance?  Your children are just finishing cleaning and polishing up their dances. It is vital that they be at their classes this week and next week! Please do everything you can to get them there. I know the teachers appreciate it.

           

COSTUMES:             Costumes are being handed out this week to anyone with a $0 account balance. Please check your account and make sure your child can take home their costume! If you have any questions on your account, please call Heidi. Also, please read the flyer attached to your child’s costume. There are several things that you may need to provide, including correct tights and shoes. Make sure you mark your child’s things with their name before the performance. We end up with several things at the end of the show that we don’t know who they belong to, and I know not many of us really want to have to go buy new shoes!

VENUE CHANGE:   Please remember that we have had a venue change for the performance. We will be performing at the Covey Center at 425 West Center Street in Provo instead of American Fork High School. If you need directions to get there, please contact me and let me know.

PICTURES:               Pictures for Beatles Mania will be Monday, June 18^th at Cory Adams Photography in American Fork. Please check the flyer attached to your costume for your assigned time slot. To get to Cory Adams, go over the Pleasant Grove Blvd. overpass like you are going to the Green Waste, keep going over the railroad tracks, and there is a building on the left that has a big Cory Adams sign on it. Please have your child at pictures, even if you are not ordering them. The kids love to remember all of the people in their class and they like to see themselves on the wall.

MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL: Mandatory Dress Rehearsal and Spacing for Beatles Mania will be on Monday, June 18^th at the Covey Center. Please check the flyers attached to your costumes for times you need to be there. Remember, this is a mandatory rehearsal. Combo classes need to be there for their spacing rehearsal and finale rehearsal, but may go after that. However, if you feel you can stay, we would love to have as many combo girls as possible stay for the finale run through at 4:30. Everyone else is required to be to all rehearsals and the run through.

  

PERFORMANCE:    Beatles Mania performance is Monday, June 18 at 7:30pm at the Covey Center. Students need to be there by 7:00 ready to go. Doors to the theatre will open at 7:00. Please remember that there is no food in the Covey Center. You may get your child ready before the performance backstage rather than driving home, but there will not be supervision before 7:00, so you will need to be there with them. Please remind your child to tuck in their ballet shoe laces, no gum, and to SMILE, SMILE, SMILE!

USHERS:                   We need 4 ushers to stand at the front door before the performance. If any of you are interested in doing this, we will credit your account your entire registration fee. Please contact Heidi if you want to do that.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS: At the performance, parents can park on the South side of the Covey Center. On the southwest side, there is a tunnel that goes down to a doorway for the performers. Please take your child there and drop them off at 7:00. No one but performers are allowed through this entrance. We will have 8 dressing rooms, and each child is assigned to a specific one. I will email you with the specific room your child will need to go to. Please talk to your child and let them know where to go. There will be teachers in each room and in the hall to help them, also.

NO SUMMER DANCE: Thank you to those who signed up for Summer Sessions of Dance. Enrollment for summer was low, so we are canceling classes for Summer. We will see you in the fall!

FALL REGISTRATION: Make sure you are registered for Fall Classes! Classes will start September 4^th at Stone Gate Center for the Arts!

IMPORTANT RECITAL INFORMATION

We are moving venues for our June 18th performance of Beatles Mania! Due to some issues that we were unable to resolve at American Fork High School, we have moved our Beatles Mania performance to the Covey Center at 425 West Center in Provo. The date, pictures, rehearsals and performances will stay at the same time, just at the Covey Center for the Arts instead of AFHS. The Covey Center is a beautiful facility and we are so excited we were able to get into there! We know it is further away for most of you, but please know that you are welcome to stay there and get your child ready for the performance backstage after Dress Rehearsal. There won't be supervision, so you will have to be there with her, but you are welcome to do that rather than drive home if you are limited on time. Also, please note that there is no food and water allowed in the facility. Water bottles are fine, but nothing else. PLEASE be sure to keep this rule. Also, we need 4 Ushers to help at the front door. If you are interested in helping with that, please call Heidi at 801-602-9196. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I cannot believe that school is almost out! Before things get too crazy in the summer I want to give you all the information that you need about what is coming up. Just so you are clear, all classes will remain at the same times through June 15^th just as they are right now. Nothing in the schedule will change times until after June 18^th. Summer schedule Session 1 will begin on Monday June 25^th and we will be at Stone Gate Center for the Arts. We are so excited for this! Thank you to all those who have already registered. There are still spaces left, but to get the classes you want, you should register soon! You can still register online for both summer sessions and fall classes at timpschoolofdance.blogspot.com, or call Heidi at
801-602-9196 and she can help you. You can also send Heidi an email at timpschoolofdance@gmail.com with your daughter’s name, which classes she would like to be in, and your contact information and Heidi will sign them up from there. The $15 registration fee for Fall Session will be added to your account and due when you register. There is no registration fee for Summer Session.
Reminder… the $60 performance fee (per family) will be charged to your account and will be due with tuition this month. Remember there will be no ticket cost for the performance. Bring as many people as you can for an evening of fun! And you will also get a professional copy of the DVD of the performance! We are still asking that there be NO personal videotaping the performance!

MONDAY JUNE 18- BEATLES MANIA!!!
Our goal is always to make this day less complicated and a great experience for your children. We have a very limited time to run dress rehearsal, so please make sure your child is there a little early. If we start running behind a little bit, please know that we are doing everything in our power to keep us on track. If you have concerns please let me know. Please look at the chart below to find you child’s picture time, dress rehearsal time, and hair, tight and shoe information. Remember… all tights need to be footed unless otherwise specified. You can get tights and shoes at The Glass Slipper in American Fork and they know exactly what color we are wanting. Just let them know that you are with Timpanogos School of Dance and they will give you a discount also!
In addition to the schedule below, there is a MANDATORY Finale Practice from 4:00-4:30 and a MANDATORY Dress Rehearsal from 4:30-til finished. Combo classes can go home after the Finale Practice, however, if they could stay for the Dress Rehearsal, we would love them there for run through!
Dancers need to arrive at American Fork High School dressed and ready to perform at 7:00pm. Beatles Mania starts at 7:30pm.


A FEW REMINDERS…


Please mark all of your child’s costumes, shoes, etc. with their names.
Please make sure your daughter doesn’t have any gum in her mouth, and remind her to tuck in her laces and smile!
Please have your child in performing make-up. This includes blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lip stick. Make-up does not need to be dark, but it will really make their features stand out when they are on stage. A light pink blush, light purple eyeshadow and a pink or red toned lip stick work well.
Please make sure your daughter’s hair is curly if it is supposed to be curly. Also, if your daughter has two classes that say different hair dos, just have her wear it like it is supposed to be for her ballet and jazz class or combo class. Don’t worry about changing hair!
Please remember to make sure your children attend their classes each week. It is important so that they can learn and clean their dances!

Registration for Summer and Fall Classes

Registration for Summer and Fall Classes is now open! Click the link to go to the class schedule and register, or call Heidi at 801-602-9196 and she can help you! If you register in the month of April, you will get a $5 credit on your account! Summer Session 1 starts June 25 and goes through July 11 (no classes Wed July 4, will be held Thurs July 5 instead). Summer Session 2 starts July 16 and runs through August 1 (no classes Tues July 24, will be held Thurs July 26 instead). Fall Session starts September 4th. Register now! Classes are filling up quickly!

April 2012 Newsletter

Hello everyone! We have some exciting news! Timpanogos School of Dance is getting a new home! We have been offered the remarkable opportunity to use the dance facilities at Stone Gate Center for the Arts. This is the building that some of you might have known as the “White Manila Church”. It is located at 886 West 2600 North in Pleasant Grove. It is just down the road from us! It has been totally remodeled and it is a beautiful building with a lot of space to dance. If you would like to see the building and learn more about it, look on www.stonegatearts.com. We are extremely excited for this change. As a studio, it will offer us much more dance space, the ability to run three classes at a time, and the opportunity to have shows in this facility. We will be moving into the building after our June performance. As we transition into this new building, we want to assure you of a few things. We will remain Timpanogos School of Dance. Tami Meacham will remain the Owner, and Heidi Panter will remain the Studio Director and will be at the facility during classes.  Our staff will be coming with us, however we will have the opportunity to pick up two new, wonderful teachers. Our level of professionalism and our focus on technique will remain. We are confident that this will provide your children with an even better dance experience.

We will be offering two Summer Sessions of dance in our new home!  The first Session will be June 25th thru July 11th. The week of  July 4th, classes that are held on Wednesdays will be moved to Thursday just for that week so we can celebrate our Independence! The second Session will be July 16th thru August 1st. The week of July 24th, classes that are held on Tuesdays will be moved to Thursday just for that week so we can celebrate our pioneer heritage! I have attached a schedule of classes that will be offered and the price schedule. Prices will be per each 3 week session. Also, Fall Registration is available. I have also included a schedule of our Fall Classes and price schedule. Online registration is available or you can call Heidi at 801-602-9196. We have also attached a Registration Form that you can fill out and send in to the studio. Just put it in the payment box. If you register within the month of April, you will receive $5 credit to your account. Because we are in a new facility, classes are filling quickly. If you want to have your first choice at classes, please send your registration form in as soon as possible!

Because of Spring Break this month, we are allowing extra time to get tuition payments in before a late fee will be charged. The new due date for tuition this month is April 20. Please make sure to include any fees that have not been paid to bring your account current. Thanks!

MARCH NEWSLETTER

Hello everybody! We have started our dances for our upcoming performance of “Beatles Mania!” so it is important to have your children in their classes so they do not fall behind. I have listed below the dates that need to be marked on your calendars and the prices for costumes that are due THIS MONTH. I have ordered costumes and we are so excited about them! This show is going to be so much fun!  

March 15 – Tuition and Costume Fees Due (unless your costume bill is more than $100 and prior arrangements have been made with Heidi to split it into two payments)

Just a reminder – If your tuition has not been put in the box, or mailed to the studio by the 15 of the month, an automatic Late Fee of $20 is charged to your account. If you have any questions about costumes, please contact Heidi at 801-602-9196. If your total costume bill is more than $100 we will work with you to get it paid. You can split the payment into two payments and pay one with March tuition and one with April tuition. In order to do this, though, you must make arrangements with Heidi or your account will be charged a late fee.

If you have extra jazz shoes, ballet slippers, tights, leotards or anything else that your child has grown out of and are still usable, please feel free to post a flier on our big studio board with a price on it or what you would be willing to trade someone for it. I know that it is expensive to keep buying items that our children have outgrown, so if we can save ourselves money by reusing some items I think it would benefit us all. If anyone has any questions for me let me know anytime! Thank you all!

February Newsletter

FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

Hello everybody, your children are looking great in their classes and we are back in the swing of things!

Beatles Mania info

The next big performance for our Studio will be “Beatles Mania.” The date for this performance is Monday June 18. Please mark your calendars early to save this date. We will perform the show at American Fork High School. I have put the pictures, dress rehearsal and the performance ON THE SAME DAY to avoid summertime family conflicts. The mandatory rehearsal & performance dates and times are on Monday June 18. Dress Rehearsal will be 12:00pm-5:00pm. Our performance will start at 7pm that same night. I hope this helps with everybody’s schedules. I will be sending a detailed schedule of times a little later. Looking forward, there will be a performance fee of $60 per family due on May 1^st. The reason for the price change is that the fee includes the rental cost of the High School and also a DVD copy of the performance for every family. The recordings are fantastic, and due to copy right laws, we can not allow recordings at other times. We know that you will enjoy having your daughter’s performance as a keepsake and we know that the company is charging us a fair price for the high quality product we will receive.

Pictures

Pictures will be the morning of June 18 at Cory Adams. (Same day as Dress Rehearsal and Performance). I will send you a schedule of times in an upcoming newsletter.

Costumes

I will be ordering ALL costumes at the end of this month. I know it seems early, but it takes a good three months to get them here. Starting MARCH 1st, costume fees will be due. ( I will have the cost breakdown sent to you in the next two weeks) If you are not planning on being in the performance I need to know this month. Also, go on Studio Director and check the classes your girls are registered in. If they are not registered for the correct classes, please let me know and get them changed. I will order costumes according to the classes they are registered in. Thank You!

There are still a lot of DVD’s and Pictures that have not been picked up. They are in boxes in the front of the studio labeled with names. Please pick them up as soon as you can. If you have any problems with the DVD’s, please let me know. They are guaranteed and the company is great to work with if we need to get one replaced.

Attendance

Please remember to get your children in their classes each week. It is important so that they can learn their dances. Thank you all for your continual support & for letting us work with your great children! We are still taking new students all month, if you have friends or family that want to join us, let them know soon!
