NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Hello parents, I wanted to let you all know that classes are coming along GREAT! We have costumes ordered and the teachers have started on choreography for the Christmas Recital. Thank you all for letting us teach your children, they are looking so good! Here is what is going on at the studio this month.

Attendance
Please remember that it is SO important that your children are in their classes EVERY week from now until performance. They are learning their recital dances and it is very difficult to have to go back and reteach things from the previous weeks. Please do everything you can to get your children to class on time. This also makes things much easier!

Payments & Holidays
November tuition is due and if you haven’t already paid for your children’s costume(s) in full, payment is due by the 15th of this month. Check your account on Studio Director or call Heidi if you need to know your account balance. The studio will be closed Wednesday November 23, Thursday November 24, and Friday November 25 due to Thanksgiving break. Looking forward…please note that the performance fee of $35 per family will be due with December’s tuition.

“What Christmas Means To Me”-CHANGE OF DATES
American Fork High School has had some scheduling changes and has told us that we need to move our performance date. This is a great venue to have our performances at, so we will be having our Spacing and Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, December 14th from 4:00-9:00pm. The performance will be on Thursday, December 15th at 7:30. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE AND MARK THIS IN YOUR CALENDARS!!! Because of the performance fee, there are no tickets sold for the show. Please invite your family and friends to come and enjoy our show. It’s going to be magical!

Recital Pictures-CHANGE OF DATE
Because we want pictures to be before the performance, we will be having our “What Christmas Means To Me” Pictures at Cory Adams Photography on Monday, December 12 starting at 3:30. Please mark this date in your calendar! Even if you don’t order pictures, we want every child to be in the group photos that we hang on the wall in the studio! I will send a schedule of times in December’s Newsletter. Or check timpschoolofdance.blogspot.com for an updated schedule.

Christmas Performance Chaperones
We are looking for anyone who would be able to help at the Christmas performance. There is a sign up sheet in the studio on the front bulletin board. You will have to be in the dressing rooms watching children during the show or rehearsal, but we need help to keep the children safe and happy! We will be using our staff for other jobs, and some of them will be performing, so if you can help in this area, we would really appreciate it!

What Christmas Means To Me DVD
Big Think Marketing & Media will be doing our DVD’s for this performance. They have done several of our DVD’s from prior years and they have turned out great! If you would like to order your DVD for $20.00, please bring your money in to the studio and give it to Heidi. You can also order it at pictures. Please make sure to order your DVD before the show. There are not going to be extra copies made. All DVD’s will be available for pick up at the studio. I will let you know when I get them in. Remember there will be NO personal video taping allowed at our show!

Costumes
Please remember that costumes can not be handed out if your costume fee is not paid. Also, please remember that ballet and combo classes will need to have pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Jazz classes need tan tights that are available at Glass Slipper and also tan jazz shoes.

As the “What Christmas Means To Me” performance draws near, it is important that you understand some of our -

Performance Policies:

First,
There will be absolutely no unauthorized parent or adult allowed backstage during a dress rehearsal or performance. All hugs, kisses, and pictures must be done before your child gets to the drop off point or after the show. Safety of your children is our number one concern. Sign up sheets for back stage parents are posted in the studio. Thank you to those of you who are willing to help! You will be given a pass for the night you have signed up for and you will be the only parents allowed backstage. That means that if you do not have a pass you will not be allowed back stage before or during the performance for any reason. Please trust us backstage with your kids, and tell grandmothers, family members & friends to do the same.

Second,
There will be a “drop off/pick up” point for all the children performing. NO UNAUTHORIZED PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED PAST THIS POINT! Once dropped off, they will be walked back to the appropriate areas where they will wait for the remainder of the show. If you will be attending the performance, then you can pick your children up at the pick up area after the show. If you are not attending the performance you will be given a time that you can meet your child at the pick up area.

Third,
No children are allowed to be in the front lobby, or in the theatre area in their costume. This includes before the show! If your child has performed, and you want your child to come out and watch the remainder of the performance with you, they need a change of clothes, or they will have to remain back stage.

Fourth,
The show will last one hour and a half, so your children won’t be out too late.

Fifth,
There will be no video taping or flash cameras during performances at any time.

Sixth,
All children should come to the performance in make-up.(Rouge, eye shadow, lipstick, mascara)Children must arrive in costume, with the proper tights and shoes & appropriate hair for each dance.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding throughout this production. We know that abiding by all of the above rules and policies will help to make a more pleasant experience for all involved. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call Heidi at 801-602-9196 or email at timpschoolofdance@gmail.com.

Thank you for all of your support!Tami Meacham (Owner) Heidi Panter (Director)
